If you are in a waiting season right now, this might be the most important thing you read today....

You have been told to "be patient". But nobody told you what that word actually means.

In the original Greek the word translated as patience is hupomonē. It comes from two words. Hypo meaning under. And menō meaning to remain or stay.

So it literally means to remain under.

Not to lie down. Not to give up. Not to go quiet and hope something eventually changes.

To stay standing under the weight without running away.

Think of a woman carrying something incredibly heavy. She does not put it down. She does not pretend it is not heavy. She just keeps going. THAT is hupomonē. And that is what the Bible is actually asking of you in this season.

James 1:3 says the testing of your faith produces exactly that.

Which means the season that feels like it is breaking you is not a sign God forgot you. It is building something in you that could not be built any other way.

I know because I was that woman at 35. Jobless. Back at my parents house. Carrying a weight I did not know how to put down. And choosing every single day to remain under it instead of running.

Seven months later I met my husband.

The wait was not wasted. It was where God built the version of me that my breakthrough required.

And I believe the same is true for you.

I just wanted you to know that today.
